Water purification, water treatment and pure water systems from CWC

Point-of-use Water Filters

While many municipalities treat water with chlorine to kill bacteria and provide some filtration, their goal is to only meet minimum drinking water requirements.

To eliminate chlorine after-taste and other common water problems, a point-of-use water treatment system is often necessary.

CWC offers a wide range of point-of-use water filters to suit any installation configuration, including free-standing gravity filter applications, counter-top, under-counter and inline applications.

Ceramic Filter Candles

At the heart of all CWC's filters is the Doulton Ultracarb ceramic filter candle. The inside wall of the ceramic is impregnated with silver to make it self-sterilising. Silver inhibits the growth of bacteria. The ceramics used have a tightly controlled complex pore structure, which has unparalleled filtration properties.

The Ultracarb point-of-use water filter candles are filled with an activated carbon block. Among other things, activated carbon is very effective at removing chlorine and organics from water.

Benefits: Ultracarb filter candles are effective at removing particles, pathogenic bacteria, cysts etc., with additional chlorine and organics removal capabilities. With its absolute filtration rating (defined as >99.99%) of 0.9 microns, the candles are highly effective against particulate contamination, pathogenic bacteria, cysts etc. Ultracarb filter candles are also effective for the removal of lead.

Ceramic filter candles can be effectively used in both gravity filters and pressure filters, and should be replaced every 6-12 months. Occasional cleaning of the surface of the ceramic filter candle may also be required on water supplies with excessive suspended solids.

Gravity Water Filters

Gravity Water FilterFor customers who do not have a pressurized municipal water supply, a gravity water filter enables you to have clean filtered drinking water on tap. Water is poured manually into the upper chamber. It passes through the filter candles under pressure of gravity into the lower chamber where the filtered water can be accessed via a tap on the front of the filter.

Our gravity water filters are manufactured from polished stainless steel and contain 2 ceramic filter cartridges, making the filter capable of filtering up to 40 litres of water per day.

Inline Pressure Filters

Inline Water FilterInline pressure filters are installed on pressurized water lines. Originally designed to be fitted to the mains cold water pipe underneath the kitchen counter, our inline water filters have also proved very popular within the water cooler industry. They are easy to incorporate into cooler plumbing and can comfortably supply enough water for a standard water cooler.

Inline pressure filters can operate at pressures up to 500 kPa. At normal municipal water pressures of 300 kPa (3 Bar), they will produce 300 litres of water per hour. They can be configured to provide all the cold water to the kitchen sink, or to provide filtered water via a separate filter tap.

Under-counter Pressure Filters

Under-counter Water FilterUnder-counter pressure filters are our most popular residential water systems. Installed on pressurized water lines under the kitchen counter, under-counter water filters draw water from the mains cold water pipeline and dispense it through a filtered water tap mounted into the counter-top.

Under-counter pressure filters are available in 2 models, constructed from either food grade acetal and polyester, or polished stainless steel. They can operate at pressures up to 500 kPa. At normal municipal water pressures of 300 kPa (3 Bar), they will produce 300 litres of water per hour.

Counter-top Pressure Filters

Counter-top Water FilterCounter top filters are very popular with people who want very easy access to their water filters, and also in areas of the world where people are keen to demonstrate that their water is filtered.

The counter-top water filter is extremely easy to install and uninstall, making it portable. It is the ideal solution for people who move house on a regular basis, for example students, business people, or diplomats.

Under-counter pressure filters are constructed from food grade acetal and polyester. They can operate at pressures up to 500 kPa. At normal municipal water pressures of 300 kPa (3 Bar), they will produce 300 litres of water per hour.
