Point-of-use Reverse Osmosis Systems

Point-of-use reverse osmosisThe CWC RO100 series is a reverse osmosis drinking water system that provides high-quality water for worry-free drinking and cooking. This state-of-the-art filter will improve the quality of water from boreholes or municipal water supplies.

Household water is directed through a pre-filter for filtration to remove sediment, chlorine taste and odor, and particulate matter. The water is then forced, by pressure, through a semi-permeable membrane where a high percentage of the dissolved solids and other contaminants are rejected and flushed to the drain.

Filtered water is stored in the pure water storage tank until needed. An activated carbon absorption block filter that removes tastes and odors polishes the water immediately before water is drawn through the system's tap.

How Reverse Osmosis Works

The Reverse Osmosis process uses a semi-permeable membrane to separate and remove dissolved solids, organics, pyrogens, sub-micron colloidal matter, viruses and bacteria from water.

Reverse Osmosis is capable of removing 98 - 99.5% of the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and 99% of all bacteria, providing ultra-pure water for any application.

CWC uses spiral wound Reverse Osmosis elements constructed from a thin-film composite membrane material. Raw water containing salts and impurities is fed into the membrane element, and the feed pressure supplied by the RO system pump forces the water through the pores in the membrane for collection in the product tube in the centre of the membrane element.

Water containing impurities is passed out of the element along the surface of the membrane and is not able to enter the tube.

RO System Features

The water-conserving 5-stage RO100 reverse osmosis system features:

  • Unique and elegant chrome, white, or brushed nickel faucet styles
  • Enclosed filter for quick, easy, twist on/off filter change
  • Automatic flow shut-off when filters are removed
  • Block carbon pre-filter to remove sediment, chlorine taste and odor, and particulate matter
  • High-volume, semi-permeable membrane
  • Dual carbon post filter to remove tastes and odors
  • System shuts down automatically when storage tank is full
